Chapter 18 - THE DEVIL'S BRIDE

One year later. Autumn in Boston.

The grand courtyard of the Beacon Hill estate was transformed into a fairytale garden. White roses, jasmine, and autumn foliage draped over the stone arches, and soft string music echoed through the warm afternoon air.

The guest list was small, intimate, and carefully chosen—Mrs. Morrison, Marco, Captain Callahan, the staff from the Vance Foundation, and close allies who had proven their loyalty.

In the master suite, Harper stood before the full-length mirror.

She wore a custom off-the-shoulder gown of ivory silk, with a long lace train that flowed behind her like foam on water. Her dark hair was styled in soft waves, anchored by a delicate crystal tiara.

She looked radiant. Powerful. Whole.

A soft knock sounded at the door, and Noah walked in, wearing a sharp little black tuxedo with a red bowtie.

"You look like a princess, Harper," Noah said, his eyes big and proud.

Harper knelt down, unmindful of her dress, and adjusted his bowtie with a gentle smile. "And you look like a very handsome young man. Are you ready to walk me down the aisle?"

Noah puffed out his chest. "I’m ready. Mr. Gabriel told me my job is the most important one today."

Together, hand in hand, sister and brother walked down the grand mahogany staircase and out into the sunlit courtyard.

At the end of the aisle, standing beside a flower-draped altar, was Gabriel.

He wore a tailored black tuxedo, looking impeccably handsome, his posture regal and imposing. But as his amber eyes caught sight of Harper walking toward him, every trace of the ruthless boss dissolved. His eyes filled with tears of pure, unadulterated joy.

Noah brought Harper to the altar, proudly handing her hand over to Gabriel.

"Take good care of her, Mr. Gabriel," Noah said seriously.

Gabriel smiled, winking at the boy. "With my life, Noah."

Gabriel took Harper’s hand, his fingers intertwining with hers. His grip was warm, solid, and eternal.

The minister’s voice drifted over the quiet crowd, speaking of love forged in adversity, of strength discovered in the darkest places, and of two souls finding sanctuary in one another.

"Do you, Gabriel Ashford, take Harper Vance to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

Gabriel looked deep into Harper’s eyes, his voice steady, deep, and unwavering. "I do. Forever."

"And do you, Harper Vance, take Gabriel Ashford to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

Harper smiled, her heart lighter than a feather in the autumn breeze. "I do. With all my heart."

"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Gabriel didn't wait. He pulled Harper into his arms, dipping her slightly as he brought his lips down to hers in a passion that brought cheers and applause from everyone in the courtyard.

When he lifted her back up, Harper rested her forehead against his, laughing happily as petals drifted down around them.

The domestic worker who had once bled on white marble was now the queen of Beacon Hill. The man they called a devil had found his angel.

Together, they walked down the aisle into the golden sunlight—stepping into a future where pain was only a distant memory, and love was an impenetrable fortress that no shadow could ever break again.
