Chapter 12 - THE CLEANING OF THE HOUSE

With the conspirators neutralized, my father and I turned our attention toward the corporate restructuring of Lindqvist-Tech.
For years, Elena and her inner circle of corrupt board members had quietly siphoned influence, placing loyalists in critical mid-management roles to undermine Christopher’s oversight. They believed the aging patriarch was losing his grip on the empire.
They were catastrophically mistaken.
Seated at the grand mahogany boardroom table on the top floor of Lindqvist Tower, I slid the comprehensive forensic audit report across the polished surface toward the remaining executive board members.
"As you can see," I stated, my voice echoing clearly through the silent, tense room, "every unauthorized transfer, shell account, and falsified compliance record has been fully mapped and cataloged. Copies have already been forwarded to the Department of Justice."
The three board members aligned with my mother sat pale and rigid in their leather chairs, staring down at the documents as if looking at their own death warrants.
"Effective immediately," Christopher added, his voice dropping an octave as he leaned heavily on his cane at the head of the table, "your resignations are accepted. Refuse, and you will be escorted out by federal marshals alongside Mrs. Lindqvist."
There was no debate. No pushback. Within ten minutes, the traitors had cleared out their desks, leaving Lindqvist-Tech entirely free of internal corruption for the first time in a decade.

When the doors clicked shut behind them, Christopher looked across the table at me, a rare, proud smile touching the corners of his mouth.
"You handled that like a true heir, Genevieve," he said quietly. "The company is yours whenever you're ready to take the crown."
