Chapter 16 - The Unbroken Morning

The sun rose over the countryside, casting a warm, golden light across the dew-kissed grass of the Victorian estate. The sirens and flashing lights were gone, replaced by the quiet, peaceful chirping of morning sparrows.
Sophie sat on the front porch swing, gently rocking back and forth with a bright yellow ribbon tied in her hair. She held a fresh cup of warm apple cider, looking out toward the horizon where the sky stretched clean, bright, and infinite.
Sarah and Mr. Bell walked out onto the porch, carrying boxes of legal papers that would finally clear Clara’s name and restore justice to every victim of the Bellamy-Harrison conspiracy.
Sarah sat down beside Sophie, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “How are you feeling today, sweetheart?”
Sophie looked up, her dark eyes shining with quiet, unshakeable strength. She smiled, took a sip of her cider, and looked toward the sunlit garden.

“I’m not scared anymore,” Sophie whispered. “Mommy’s safe now.”
The shadows of the past had finally dissolved into light, leaving behind a world where truth had won, and a little girl who refused to let go could finally rest in peace and love.
