I nodded grimly, sliding the titanium micro-chip into the secure offline decoder terminal wired into our satellite uplink. Instantly, lines of complex green cryptographic code cascaded down the high-contrast display screen, unlocking a massive, global database containing the unredacted identities, banking records, and communication logs of every single co-conspirator tied to Robert Prescott and The Architect.
“Ready to upload?” I asked, my index finger hovering steadily over the physical transmission key.
“Do it,” Irene said firmly. “Let the whole house of cards come down.”
I slammed my finger down on the key. The terminal hummed violently, drawing heavy current from the backup generator as it began packet-routing the massive trove of data through a decentralized, encrypted mesh network designed to bypass any localized government firewall, corporate proxy block, or military EMP grid.

Suddenly, the cabin’s emergency overhead lights flickered frantically and died, plunging us into sudden darkness. A low, vibrating, metallic hum echoed heavily through the canyon floor outside, rattling the dust off the concrete ceiling.
“Incoming!” Vance shouted, bursting back through the heavy steel door from the outer corridor, slamming it shut behind him with a resounding crash and throwing the massive manual locking bolts into place. “Thermal scopes on the ridge just lit up! Three unmarked tactical choppers are moving low and silent through the gorge! They’ve deployed a ground assault team!”
