Two weeks later, the world had fundamentally and irrevocably changed.

The global data leak exposed the entire rot of The Meridian Group, triggering an immediate wave of nationwide arrests that brought down Robert Prescott, The Architect, and dozens of high-ranking government officials who had enabled their decades of corruption. My mother and sister were remanded to a maximum-security federal penitentiary to face trial for conspiracy, treason, and extortion, their lifelong illusions of elite impunity shattered into dust against the unyielding wall of true justice.

I stood on the sunlit wooden porch of a quiet ranch house overlooking the tranquil, mirror-like blue waters of a private lake in northern Arizona, the desert nightmare finally behind us forever.

Irene walked out onto the porch, a soft, radiant smile gracing her lips as she leaned gently against my shoulder.

“The baby is going to grow up in a world where the truth actually matters, isn't she?” Irene whispered softly, looking out across the sparkling water.

I wrapped my arm securely around her waist, pulling her close, knowing that every battle we had fought was entirely worth it.

“Yes,” I answered, kissing the top of her head as the morning breeze carried us toward a peaceful, unbroken future. “And no matter what shadows try to creep in, we will always stand guard.”
