Chapter 13 - THE LEAK

Inside the dark elevator shaft, Julian held the blue binder under one arm while helping Elowen climb the iron rungs toward the roof exit.

"Who called the harbor police?" Julian gasped, his heart hammering against his ribs as gunfire echoed far below them.

"I did," Elowen revealed, her breath steady despite the climb. "Before we left the cottage, I used my old emergency radio transmitter to trigger an automated distress signal directly to the Coast Guard harbor patrol. I gave them the exact GPS coordinates of this warehouse."

They burst through the rooftop hatch into the cold, pouring rain.

High above the river, the city skyline gleamed in the distance. Below them, police cruisers and harbor patrol vessels surrounded the 4th Street terminal with flashing red and blue lights.

Julian pulled out his personal phone—which had finally reconnected to the cellular network now that they were out of Vance’s localized jammer radius.

Using his master CEO encryption clearance, Julian opened his phone’s secure corporate portal. He used his camera to scan every single page of the blue binder—the coroner’s original toxicology report, the forged brake-line inspection, the wire transfer receipts to Victor’s offshore accounts.

"What are you doing, Julian?" Elowen asked, wiping rain from her face.

"Finishing what my father started," Julian said softly.

With a single tap on his screen, Julian sent the unredacted files directly to every member of the Thorne Global Board of Directors, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the top three national news syndicates.
