Chapter 13 - The Harbor Ghost

The digital coordinate flashing on the military-grade laptop pointed straight to Pier 42 at the city’s industrial shipping yards—a sprawling labyrinth of rusted shipping containers, towering gantry cranes, and silent warehouses that had officially been marked as inactive by the port authority for over a decade.

Alexander stood beside Elena, his hand resting on the back of her chair as they stared at the pulsing red dot on the tactical map.

“That pier belongs to a subsidiary shell of the Zurich syndicate,” Alexander said, his jaw tightening. “If they’re gathering there tonight, it means they’re preparing to evacuate their remaining leadership before the international arrest warrants are broadcast globally.”

I checked the magazine of my sidearm, chambering a round with a sharp, metallic click. “My tactical units are already positioned along the perimeter roads. If anyone tries to slip out by land or water, they won’t get fifty yards.”

Within twenty minutes, three unmarked security vans rolled quietly through the rusted gates of Pier 42, their headlights dark, cutting through the thick sea fog rolling in off the dark harbor.
