Chapter 10 - INTO THE MIST
Inside the sedan, Rosy let out a terrified whimper, clutching Minh’s arm.
"He's lying," Minh whispered to Linh, his eyes wide with horror. "He's going to kill us all."
Linh looked back at her little niece and nephew. The grief that had consumed her for six years burned away, replaced by a fierce, unstoppable resolve.
"He isn't going to touch either of you," Linh said, her voice completely calm, smooth, and cold as ice.
She shifted the sedan into reverse, locking her eyes on the rear wooden loading dock overlooking the dark harbor water below.
"Hold onto something!" Linh yelled.
She slammed her foot down on the accelerator!
The tires shrieked against the wet concrete, sending up clouds of white rubber smoke. The green sedan shot backward through the rear wooden double doors of the warehouse, splintering the aged timber in a violent explosion of wood chips and glass!
CRASH!
The car sailed off the edge of Pier 4, plunging fifteen feet through the rainy night air before crashing directly into the churning, black ocean water below!

Above them, on the edge of the shattered pier, Detective Han rushed forward, staring down into the dark harbor mist as the car's taillights sank beneath the foaming sea.
