Chapter 18 - THE LITHIUM VALLEY
Six months later.
The family traveled to the lush, green highlands of southern Mexico—to the estate that had belonged to Elena’s family for generations.
The land was breathtaking: rolling green hills, clean rivers, and ancient pine forests stretching as far as the eye could see.
Instead of opening the land to heavy industrial lithium mining that would have destroyed the ecosystem—which was what the syndicate had planned—Daniel used the Garza Security foundation funds to transform the entire valley into an eco-protected scientific sanctuary: The Elena Garza Memorial Reserve.
A small, elegant stone monument sat on a hilltop overlooking the valley, surrounded by wild white roses.
Daniel, Mateo, and Sofía stood hand-in-hand in front of the stone.
Sofía placed a bouquet of fresh flowers at the base of the monument, leaning her head gently against Daniel’s side. "Mom would have loved this place, wouldn't she, Dad?"
"She loved it more than anywhere else in the world," Daniel whispered, wrapping his arm around his daughter's shoulders. "And now it belongs to the earth, just like she wanted."

Mateo looked out over the vast, untouched landscape, the cool mountain breeze blowing through his hair. "We did it, Dad. We saved her legacy."
"No, Mateo," Daniel said, pulling both of his children close as the golden afternoon sun bathed the valley in warm light. "We saved each other."
