Chapter 15 - A DAWN OF CHANGE

The next morning, the sun broke brilliantly over the seventeen acres of Whitmore House. The storm had completely passed. At the western private airstrip, Adrian’s corporate jet stood ready to fly Grace’s younger brother to Boston for medical treatment.
Grace stood on the red carpet leading up to the jet, dressed in an elegant cream-colored suit provided by Adrian.
"Inside this leather portfolio are the legal deeds of the Whitmore Philanthropic Foundation and an assigned executive card," Adrian handed her the case. "From now on, you have full authority to help families facing the exact hardship your brother overcame."
Grace clutched the case, her throat tightening. "Will I be back soon, Adrian?"

"This place will always be your home, Grace," Adrian smiled warmly. "When you return, those iron gates will never lock out anyone in need. I've ordered the electronic security locks permanently removed from the main entrance."
As the jet soared into the bright blue sky, Adrian stood on the tarmac watching it climb. He reached into his coat pocket, pulled out a crisp red apple—the very one Grace had given him through the iron bars—and took a bite, savoring the clean, sweet taste.
