Chapter 11 - THE CORNERED RAT

Harrison Vance did not go quietly.
As two uniformed security officers escorted him through the glass double doors of the boardroom, he turned toward Daniel, his face contorted in a mask of pure, bitter rage.
"You think you've won because you have a piece of paper from London?" Harrison sneered, his voice ringing across the silent 60th floor. "You're playing a game you don't understand, Daniel. Julian thought he could outsmart the foundation, and look where he ended up—bottom of a ravine in Zurich. You won't make it to the annual shareholder summit."
Daniel didn't flinch. He stood at the head of the obsidian table, adjusting his cufflinks with measured composure. "Is that a threat, Uncle?"
"It's a promise," Harrison hissed before the security doors clicked shut behind him.
The remaining eleven board members sat frozen in their leather chairs, staring at Daniel with newfound terror and respect. The quiet younger nephew who had handled logistical supply chains for five years had dismantled the matriarch and the chairman in less than twenty-four hours.

Daniel turned to the board. "The trading floor opens in thirty minutes. Marcus will distribute the revised executive proxies. Any director who attempts to leak company assets to Harrison's private accounts will face immediate federal prosecution. Meeting adjourned."
He picked up his briefcase and walked out, his mind already racing back to the cliffside compound.
