Chapter 9 - THE BOARDROOM SHOWDOWN

At 8:00 AM sharp, the executive boardroom on the 60th floor of the Vance Global Tower was buzzing with tension.
Twelve senior board members sat around the long obsidian table. At the head sat Harrison Vance—a ruthless sixty-year-old billionaire with slicked-back white hair and cold, calculating grey eyes.
"Where is my nephew?" Harrison demanded, checking his gold pocket watch. "Daniel was instructed to bring the child here by eight o'clock. If he refuses to cooperate with the board, we will vote immediately to strip him of his executive authority."
"There’s no need to vote, Uncle Harrison," a deep voice boomed from the doorway.
The double doors swung open. Daniel walked into the boardroom, dressed in a sharp charcoal suit, his presence commanding absolute silence. Beside him walked Marcus, carrying a heavy steel briefcase.
Harrison sneered, leaning back in his leather chair. "You come alone, Daniel? Where is the bastard child Margaret reported? Where is the boy?"
"Noah is in a secure location where your hitmen can't touch him," Daniel said coldly, walking to the foot of the obsidian table.

Harrison scoffed. "Wild accusations won't save you, Daniel. Under Section 4 of the corporate charter, an unverified heir cannot hold voting shares. Without the boy here for testing by our panel, Margaret’s estate retains the proxy!"
"Margaret doesn't have an estate anymore," Daniel replied, tossing a thick legal document onto the table. "She was formally arrested two hours ago at the border attempting to flee the country with four million dollars in stolen bearer bonds."
