Chapter 8 - THE WHISPER IN THE RECORDINGS
While Noah slept soundly under Elena’s watchful eye, Daniel retired to the compound’s subterranean study.
He plugged Julian’s encrypted drive into his terminal. The drive contained hundreds of audio files, bank ledgers, and dashcam footage recovered from Julian’s wrecked vehicle in Switzerland two years ago.
Daniel clicked on an audio file dated three days before Julian's accident.
The speakers crackled, and the deep, familiar voice of his late brother filled the silent room:
"Daniel... if you're listening to this, it means they finally made their move. Margaret thinks she’s pulling the strings, but she’s just a pawn. It’s Harrison. Uncle Harrison found out about Noah's birth certificate in London. He’s the one who tampered with my brakes in Zurich..."
Daniel’s fists clenched so hard his knuckles turned white. A cold, suffocating rage gripped his chest. For two long years, he had believed his beloved older brother died in a tragic weather-related accident.

"Protect the boy, Daniel," Julian’s voice continued, growing fainter through the static. "Noah carries the master encryption keys to the family trust in his legal registry. As long as Noah lives, Harrison can never legally touch the core assets of Vance Global. Keep him safe... promise me..."
"I promise, Julian," Daniel whispered to the empty room, tears burning the corners of his eyes. "I will tear them all down."
