Chapter 15 - THE DAWN OF TOMORROW

As dusk fell over the valley, the party guests gradually departed, leaving the estate wrapped in a peaceful, serene quiet.

A soft golden glow illuminated the main glass pavilion. Inside, a fire crackled softly in the floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace.

Sienna sat on a comfortable plush sofa, tucking a sleeping Elena into her crib beside the hearth. Mila lay curled up on the rug nearby, her head resting against Nico’s knee as he read her a story from an old book of fairy tales.

"Grandpa," Mila murmured sleepily, rubbing her eyes.

"Yes, my dear?" Nico asked softly, stroking her dark hair.

"Do you remember when I gave you my phone in the garage?"

Nico paused, a gentle, reflective smile spreading across his face. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the old smartphone—now cleaned, polished, and mounted inside a small acrylic display frame that sat on the mantelpiece.

"I remember every second of it, Mila," Nico said gently. "You were very brave."

"I was scared Daddy would be mad," Mila whispered. "But I knew you would protect us."

"And I always will," Nico promised, kissing her forehead. "As long as I draw breath, no one will ever hurt you or your mother again."

Sienna walked over and sat beside them on the rug, resting her hand on Nico’s knee and pulling Mila into a warm embrace.

Outside, the heavy iron gates of the estate stood wide open, bathed in the soft glow of lantern light—no longer keeping the world out, but welcoming a bright, peaceful future filled with endless hope.

The darkness was gone forever. The family was finally whole.
