Chapter 18 - HEALING THE FOUNDATIONS
With the final legal challenge incinerated, Sienna turned her full attention toward her ultimate architectural passion project: the opening of the Eleanor & Sienna Community Center.
Built on the very site of the former private clinic where Dr. Sterling had operated, the new complex was a masterpiece of glass, light, and natural oak. It housed a free pediatric clinic, a vocational design school for young mothers, and a state-of-the-art children's library.
On the morning of the grand ribbon-cutting ceremony, hundreds of local families gathered in the sunlit plaza.
Sienna stood at the microphone, flanked by her construction team, Mark, Prosecutor Reed, and her family. Little Elena, now two years old with curly dark hair and bright hazel eyes, toddled around her mother’s skirt, while eight-year-old Mila proudly wore a ribbon-cutting badge.
"When we look at buildings, we often think of stone and steel," Sienna spoke into the microphone, her voice warm and steady. "But a building is only as strong as the purpose inside it. This center was built over the ruins of a place that once tried to tear families apart. Today, it stands to bring them together."
Nico stepped up beside her, hand-in-hand with Mila, to cut the thick red ribbon together. As the shears closed, dozens of white balloons were released into the blue sky, accompanied by the joyful cheers of the community.
Among the crowd was David, her site manager, who handed Sienna a framed photo taken by one of the local journalists.
It captured the exact moment the ribbon fell—Nico smiling proudly down at Sienna, while Mila held up her little sister Elena to see the balloons.

"No, Nico," Sienna smiled, placing her arm through his. "You gave us the foundation. We just built the home."
