Chapter 5 - A NEW DAWN

At 4:15 in the morning, as the first pale rays of dawn filtered through the rain-streaked windows of St. Jude's Hospital, the quiet room was filled with a sharp, healthy cry.

"It’s a girl," Dr. Harrison announced with a tired, joyful smile, wrapping the newborn in a warm yellow blanket and laying her gently onto Sienna’s chest.

Sienna wept quietly, kissing the baby’s soft, dark-haired head. Beside her, Mila leaned over, carefully touching her baby sister’s tiny fingers.

"What are you going to name her, Mommy?" Mila whispered.

Sienna looked up at Nico, who was standing by the window, watching the police vehicles light up the street below as Gavin and Marjorie were loaded into federal transport vans.

"Elena," Sienna said softly. "After her grandmother. The woman who built this family on real honor."

Nico turned around, his eyes shining with rare, warm tears. He walked to the side of the bed, pulling a small velvet box from his pocket. Inside rested a antique signet ring—the true seal of the Ferrante estate, traditionally passed down to the head of the house.

He did not set it aside for Gavin. He placed it gently in Sienna’s hand.

"Gavin and Marjorie will spend the rest of their lives behind iron bars for treason, attempted murder, and corporate fraud," Nico said, his voice thick with deep emotion. "This estate no longer belongs to them. It belongs to you, to Mila, and to little Elena."

Sienna looked at the ring, then at her two daughters, feeling the heavy, suffocating dark shadows of the past four years vanish completely into the morning light.

"Thank you, Nico," Sienna whispered.

Nico smiled—a genuine, warm smile that reached his eyes for the first time in years. "No, Sienna. Thank you. And thank you, little Mila."

He knelt beside the seven-year-old girl, gently tapping the old smartphone she still held tightly in her small hand.

"You saved us all today, my little detective."
